Kinesiology is based on the theory that muscles reflect energy blockages in the body. These blockages are identified with muscle tests, which involves feeling the tension and resistance of the muscle by manually applying light pressure. If the therapist determines an imbalance in energy flow, they will use light touch on the tense muscles to dissolve these energy blockages. The kinesiologist may also use other techniques, such as massage, physical exercises, and medication.
Modern kinesiology covers a variety of specialist areas.
