CSS again voted “Most Trusted Health Insurer”

Reader’s Digest conducts an annual representative survey to determine which brands inspire the most confidence among consumers. Some 1,800 people throughout Switzerland took part in the study.

In 2018, CSS took the top spot in the health insurance category, lifting the title of “Most Trusted Brand” for the 7th time.

Lowest administration costs in Switzerland

Of all the health insurers in Switzerland, CSS Insurance is the most efficient: Comparis has awarded the 2019 Efficiency Prize to CSS Kranken-Versicherung AG.

CSS spends only 2.9 percent of your premiums on administration. About 97 cents of each franc in premiums are used for covering the cost of hospitals, doctors and medicines, while administrative expenses amount to only 3 cents.

Our autumn 2017 online campaign picked up a complete set of medals at the Best of Swiss Web Awards 2018, winning Bronze in the ‘Marketing’ category, Silver in the ‘Data & Technology Driven Campaigns’ category and Gold in the ‘Business’ category.

Best of Swiss Web honours the best online and mobile projects each year, with the jury awarding Gold, Silver and Bronze in ten different categories.

Our autumn online campaign has scooped two accolades at the Swiss Effie Awards 2018: it was awarded Gold in the ‘Media’ category and Bronze in the ‘Activation’ category. The Swiss Effie, known as the Oscar of the marketing industry, honours the most effective brand communications.

Each year, the Swiss Dialogue Marketing Association (SDV) presents awards for the best dialogue marketing campaigns. Our autumn 2017 online campaign picked up two accolades at the 2018 award ceremony: Gold in the ‘Digital: Creative Use of Data’ category and Bronze for ‘Dialogue Campaigns with an E-Mail Marketing & Social Media Focus’.

SDV Award 2017: 2x gold and 1x silver for myCSS app

The app received the gold award in two categories – “Digital: Mobile Marketing incl. App” and “Campaigns for Financial Service Providers” – plus a silver award in the “Customer Retention Programmes” category. According to one of the jurors for the first category: “In reality, most of us already have more than enough apps. But when an app is as smart and useful as the myCSS app, it not only generates outstanding download and user numbers, it also earns gold from the jury.”  

The Swiss Dialogue Marketing Association (SDV) has been presenting its awards for around 20 years in honour of campaigns that are, in the words of the association’s President, “masterful and in keeping with the times”.

The CSS Insurance app has been awarded two gold and three silver medals by a jury of experts at the “Best of Swiss Apps Awards 2016”. The app stands out due to its unique functions, clear design and intuitive handling. And is proof that CSS is playing an active role in the digitalisation of the Swiss insurance industry.

Our QualiCheck won the special prize at the innovation award of the Swiss insurance industry on 25 October 2017. The sponsors of the prize recognised CSS’s courage to focus on quality in medical practices and its efforts to making the health services industry more transparent. This is because QualiCheck uses subjective and objective criteria to compare acute hospitals in Switzerland and offers our customers a decision aid.


CSS has the first certified data collection centre in Switzerland

On 1 January 2013, the data collection centre of CSS became the first of its kind in Switzerland that manages hospital bills electronically. On the one hand, its standardised regulations guarantee data privacy for every person insured with CSS; on the other hand, it paves the way for quick and client-oriented invoicing with hospitals. The data collection centre, which started in July 2012, has cutting-edge technology and was certified soon afterwards by the Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems (SQS) at the end of October 2012.


Data protection seal for Medical Advisory Service and benefits assessment of CSS Insurance

Since 2007, the Medical Advisory Service (MAS) has held the GoodPriv@cy seal of data protection, and since 2010 it has also been certified under the Ordinance on Data Protection Certification (VDSZ). Since 2018, the benefits assessment of CSS Insurance holds both certificates. The certification awarded to the MAS and the benefits assessment underscores the importance of data privacy at CSS Insurance.

The independent Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems (SQS) awards the international GoodPriv@cy certificate and reviews it annually during an audit.

ValueQuest: Excellence Work

CSS is once again rated an excellent employer in 2018

The employee survey rates CSS Insurance an excellent employer for the second time in a row. If at least 80% of a company’s workforce takes part in the survey and achieves an employee motivation score of at least 80%, the market research institute ValueQuest awards that company the “Excellence @ Work” award. Bruno Catellani, CEO of ValueQuest states: “No other company of this size achieved as high a score for motivation as CSS.”

SQS - Fair Compensation

CSS Insurance awarded «Fair Compensation» label

According to the Federal Office for Gender Equality, there are still great differences in pay here in Switzerland. The CSS Group has now become one of the first companies to be awarded the «Fair Compensation» certificate by the Swiss Association for Quality and Management Systems (SQS), attesting to equal pay for equal work.



CSS awarded “Friendly Work Space” label

CSS once again received “Friendly Work Space” accreditation in 2019. In its report, Health Promotion Switzerland states that we have made considerable progress since first being accredited in 2013. CSS is successfully committed to ensuring good working conditions for its employees on a long-term basis and takes its corporate social responsibility seriously.

For me, this is a very important point, as I am convinced that taking a professional approach to the health of employees is a key success factor for any business.”
