Best quality for you

We strive to ensure that our healthcare system remains one of the world’s best, today and in the future. That’s why we are committed to quality and transparency in medical care.

Important quality indicators for you

Whether for an operation, therapeutic or diagnostic procedure. If you need to decide on a place of treatment, you might find these pointers helpful.

Case numbers

Enquire about case numbers before commencing treatment. Because more procedures being performed equates to more experience. This applies equally to surgery, therapeutic and diagnostic procedures as well as the hospital’s technical equipment.

Quality development in hospitals and clinics

ANQ, the Swiss National Association for Quality Development in Hospitals and Clinics, measures the quality of more than 400 acute hospitals, psychiatric facilities and clinics. These figures may help you decide where you would like to be treated.

In addition, the new article in the Federal Health Insurance Act (Art. 58 et seq. KVG) creates the legal framework for improving healthcare development and quality on a national basis from 1 April 2021.

Other quality indicators for you

Doctors & nursing staff
How doctors and nursing staff rate in relation to explaining the treatment method and risks involved, communicating with patients, enabling questions to be asked and also the quality of the care they provide.
Accommodation & catering
Evaluation of the quality of meals provided, the room infrastructure, the size and layout of the bathroom and the cleanliness of the room and bathroom.
Recommendation rate
Anonymised patient surveys of hospitals and rehab clinics show how many patients would recommend the institution in question.
Rehospitalisation
Rehospitalisation means the patient having to go back into hospital again after being discharged. It is linked to the diagnosis made during the previous stay in hospital.
Pressure sores
Pressure sores can arise from improper care, e.g. if the patient is positioned incorrectly or on one side. This is relevant for longer periods of hospitalisation.
Wound infection rates
The wound infection rate shows how often the surgical site becomes infected following an operation – within a month or, in the case of special procedures, within a year.
Quality in service provision

Our contribution to more quality

On behalf of our clients, we check whether service providers are complying with important quality standards.
