1 - 2 onions

Warm water, if needed
For an onion poultice, finely slice 1 to 2 onions and wrap in a cloth. Use cold for acute pain, and warm for chronic pain.
Leave the poultice on for 15 to 30 minutes. The poultice should always feel pleasant to the patient; if not, the poultice should be removed immediately.
For a warm poultice, heat the onion in warm water or in a warm steam bath.
