Check-up: identifying risks

A Check-up helps you to be proactive about your health. Various examinations and tests show how healthy you currently are. Potential risks can be detected at an early stage.

The advantages for you

  • Your state of health is assessed. Potential risks are detected early.
  • New from 1 January 2025: 50%, or up to CHF 1,000, for your Check-up every 2 years.
  • You can choose any service provider as defined in the Federal Health Insurance Act to carry out the Check-up, whether that’s a doctor or a hospital.

A Check-up makes sense

Used correctly, screenings make a lot of sense. They are a way of detecting the risk of disease early. You can find out which tests and examinations are suitable for you from your doctor's practice.

Physical check-up including height, weight, BMI, small blood sample and more.

Which test is suitable?

There are many different healthcare screening tests and examinations available. The right one for you depends on your personal situation, including your age and health risks. We recommend discussing this in person with your family doctor. You can also view screening recommendations in the Well app.

Where can you get a Check-up?

You can choose any service provider as defined in the Federal Health Insurance Act to carry out the Check-up, whether that’s a doctor or a hospital.

How to get your contri­bution to a Check-up

We pay a share of the costs of medically recommended examinations and tests if they are not covered by basic insurance or outpatient insurance.

Important: Make sure that the services are billed using ‘Prevention’ as the reason for treatment. That way, part of the costs of the Check-up will be assumed.
