Light layered dessert with berries and quark
Who doesn't enjoy indulging in a delicious dessert every now and then? And, when cleverly combined, a few healthy nutrients can also be sneaked into a dessert. A luscious, layered dessert can be concocted from quark and berries.
Light layered dessert with berries
A healthy diet should include sufficient protein. Low-fat quark is a good source as it contains around 10 grams per 100 grams. And berries contain many antioxidants. These can neutralise free radicals and ward off inflammatory processes in the body. Free radicals are aggressive oxygen particles that appear in the body both as a by-product of normal metabolism and as a result of external factors such as smoking or stress. A dessert made of quark and berries is therefore a powerful combination.
Ingredients for 4 persons
250g quark
200ml cream
juice of 1 lemon
2 tbsp. sugar or erythritol
4 handfuls of berries of your choice
chocolate biscuits to garnish
Method
- Mix the quark, lemon juice and sugar with a hand mixer until creamy.
- Whip the cream separately until light and fluffy and fold into the quark mixture.
- Form layers in glasses with the berries and garnish with the biscuits.
Oat crumble topping
To add more nutrients to the dessert, replace the chocolate biscuits with a healthy oat crumble. Toast 4 tbsp. oats in a pan until they smell nutty but aren't burnt. Drizzle the oats with honey to garnish.
